The 2009 Asian Beau Stakes was taken out by the D T McAuliffe trained Kasabian from barrier 2, carrying 53.0kg in weight. Kasabian, a 4yo gelding was ridden by S O'Donnell and won the race .2 lengths ahead of the second placed Elliotto, who carried 55.0 from barrier 6. Then followed Grand Nirvana in third spot 1.8 lengths behind, carrying 58.0. Kasabian won at odds of 4.50.
