Eclipse Stakes at Sandown

The Eclipse Stakes is a Group 3 Race held every January at Sandown racecourse. It is raced over a distance of 1,800 meters and is run under Qlty conditions.
The race is open to any ages of any sex and carries a prize purse of $125,000.
Sandown Racecourse Information 
Sandown became a two-circuit racetrack in 2003. The Lakeside track, with its 45 metre wide straight, is a new circuit built inside the old track that was redeveloped and named Hillside.
Sandown is noted as a wet-weather surface. Long straights, big sweeping turns and a long, uphill run to the finish line gives all horses a fair run. The 1000m sprint course has a slight dog leg and there's a slight rise from the 400m to the finish poist.
