Inglis Mile Betting

The Inglis Mile (aka Tesio Stakes) is a Group 3 event held annually at Moonee Valley racecourse, the same day as the Group 1 WS Cox Plate. It is an open handicap for 4-year-old mares and up over a distance of 1600 metres. It carries prize money worth $125,000.

The race itself has been held since 1988 and was upgraded to Group 3 status in 1994. Noteable winners include Spectrum (1997), Miss Margaret (1996), Our Marquise (1995), Western Chorus (1991), Princess Pushy (1990) and Voltage (1988). Interestingly, the 2008 Tesio Stakes had an epic finish with a double dead heat! Miss Badoura and Bird Of Wire were declared winners, with Permission To Land and Princess Marizza tying for third.
