The 2009 PJ OShea Stakes was taken out by the D L Morton trained Scenic Shot from barrier 12, carrying 59.0kg in weight. Scenic Shot, a 6yo gelding was ridden by S Scriven and won the race 2.8 lengths ahead of the second placed Mirkola Lass (NZ), who carried 57.0 from barrier 13. Then followed Fulmonti (NZ) in third spot .8 lengths behind, carrying 59.0. Scenic Shot won at odds of 2.88.
