The 2009 Queensland Oaks was taken out by the Peter Snowden trained Purple from barrier 6, carrying 55.5kg in weight. Purple, a 3yo Filly was ridden by K Mc Evoy and won the race 1.3 lengths ahead of the second placed Nothin' Leica Cat (NZ), who carried 55.5 from barrier 17. Then followed Walk In The Park (NZ) in third spot 1.3 lengths behind, carrying 55.5. Purple won at odds of 4.50.
