The 2009 Silver Slipper Stakes was taken out by the G A Ryan trained Melito from barrier 2, carrying 54.5kg in weight. Melito, a 2yo Filly was ridden by D Nikolic and won the race 2 lengths ahead of the second placed Sunday Rose, who carried 54.5 from barrier 4. Then followed Onemorenomore in third spot 4 lengths behind, carrying 56.5. Melito won at odds of 5.50.
