Markus Maximus (NZ), a 3yo gelding was ridden by L Nolen and won the race .2 lengths ahead of the second placed Berlioz (NZ), who carried 56.0 from barrier 6. Then followed Phenomenons in third spot .4 lengths behind, carrying 56.0. Markus Maximus (NZ) won at odds of 8.00.
