Nominations in for Winx Stakes Day

Posted by RS NewsWire at 12:55pm on August 14th

What a day to kick off the season of G1 racing with the Winx Stakes (1400m) a huge feature on a day with five group races to bet on.

In the Group 1, Fangirl ($4.50) looks to make amends for all her honest placings at the highest level. But she will take on a cavalcade of stablemates such as Lindermann ($8), Osipenko ($15), Princess Grace ($15) and Going Global ($26).

But there are other elite horses like Annabel Neasham’s Zaaki ($4.50) and Mo’Unga ($8) and an old warrior on the comeback trail as Think It Over ($8) resumes.

The fillies kick off the Princess Series as they run the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes with Estriella ($4.50) fancied. She will also have competition from a group of Tulloch Lodgers Platinum Jubilee ($4.50), Autumn Ballet ($11) and Amazonian Lass ($26). The well credentialed Percy Sykes winning form of Kristilli ($6) has to be respected.

A G3 sprint race, Show County Quality (1200m), will be a top betting affair with Extremely Lucky ($3.50) looking to run this week. Buenos Noches ($4.50) has brilliant form all around him as a younger horse so must be considered.

G3 Toy Show Quality (1100m) could have important form for the future with top now mare Zougotcha ($3.50) hard in the market. Parisal ($3.50) for Godolphin is another in good trial form.

The stayers will use the G3 Premier’s Cup as a stepping stone to soon to take place distance features. Fawkner Park ($2.80) has been so good since arriving here while King Frankel ($6) has first outing for the new yard.
