G1 racing returns to Melbourne with Memsie Stakes Day
Melbourne hosts its first major of the racing season with the running of the G1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) on Saturday.
Many of the elite sprinter/milers are in the nominations including Alligator Blood ($6) and Mr Brightside ($3.50) will be high up in the markets come the weekend.
There is also up and comers like Amenable ($26), Attrition ($51) and Princess Grace ($11) off her top Sydney form. Plus the icing being I Wish I Win ($3) who begins his Everest campaign.
The 3yos will be featured in the G3 HDF McNeil Stakes (1200m) with potential Guineas horses on show. Blue Diamond contenders Barber ($3.50) and Little Brose ($6) are well noted here.
Sprinters run in the G1 The Heath 1100 Stakes (1100m) where newcomers to the big league like Benedetta ($8) and Magic Time ($6) take the next step against Asfoora ($3).
In the G3 Cockram Stakes (1200m), top mares chase important black type. Sigh ($15) and Va Via ($26) look to keep winning streaks alive at good value.
