Damian Lane booked for key 2023 Caulfield Cup ride

In a bid to secure Japan’s third win in the prestigious Caulfield Cup, celebrated jockey Damian Lane is slated to ride Breakup in this year’s 2400m handicap race.
Lane triumphed in 2019’s event on Mer De Glace and is looking forward to replicating his success.
Breakup has already made a mark with his victory in last year’s Group 2 Copa Republica Argentina and a fourth-place finish in the G1 Tenno Sho (Spring).
Lane’s remarkable track record with Japanese steeds extends to victories in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Hong Kong, along with 35 wins during a fruitful season in Japan, punctuated by a win in the G1 Tokyo Yushun.
Breakup, allocated 55kg, is listed at $11 in Ladbrokes market for the upcoming Caulfield Cup and a $15 chance in the 2023 Melbourne Cup.
