Nominations in for Spring Champion Stakes day at Randwick
The G1 Spring Champions Stakes (2000m) has often been a good horse’s race as the boys get to the 2000m for the first time and may well press on to the Victoria Derby.
Tom Kitten ($2.50) looks like he is really striving for that ground so has to run favourite here at a short quote with betting sites. Could the filly Tutta La Vita ($8) pose the biggest threat?
The Invitation (1400m) hasn’t had the final lot issued yet but of those already, Espiona ($3.50) and Magic Time ($4) have excellent recent form. Opal Ridge ($7) steps up in company now as well.
We see the progressive 3yos take to the G2 Callander-Presnell (1600m) and a filly on the rise Arctic Glamour ($2.50) will have plenty watching for her. Heman ($8) is another looking to be making nice progress coming out of the Tapp-Craig.
Middle distance types are entered for the G3 Craven Plate (1800m). A few G1 winners are in the nominations including Fireburn ($8), Huetor ($15) and No Compromise ($6).
Another black type race is the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) and this time it is for the sprinting 3yos. Can Barber ($3.50) improve or will Keenan ($11) take the next step?
