Will Price aims to seal apprentice journey with city triumph
Apprentice jockey Will Price is on the brink of surpassing his claim in the city, needing just one more win before his transition to a senior rider at year-end.
The 23-year-old, champion Melbourne apprentice in 2020-21, faces four chances this weekend with rides at Caulfield and Moonee Valley.
Last weekend’s double triumph, steering Our Cracklin Rosie and Brung King, brought his tally to 79 wins, marking a significant turnaround from a challenging period without a Melbourne win since mid-August.
Price, apprenticed to Dan O’Sullivan, has spent recent months in Melbourne preparing for the transition, emphasizing the importance of adapting to the routine of a senior jockey.
