Karavas to target Blue Diamond Stakes
South Australia’s promising two-year-old, Karavas, has returned to training and is set to target the prestigious Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) in Melbourne next year. Owned by Richard and Chantelle Jolly, this undefeated daughter of Alabama Express is gearing up for an exciting campaign.
Taking advantage of the unseasonably wet start to summer, Karavas has enjoyed optimal conditions for growth, benefiting from nutrient-rich pasture. Richard Jolly expressed satisfaction with her physical condition, noting that despite a brief three-week spell, she appeared as if she had spent much longer in the paddock.
Karavas made an impressive debut by winning the Moorundi Classic (900m) at Murray Bridge in October. Her talent was further showcased when she triumphed in the Group 3 Ottawa Stakes (1000m) at Flemington, comfortably defeating subsequent Stakes winners Eneeza and Arabian Summer.
As the training regime kicks off, all eyes will be on Karavas as she progresses towards the Blue Diamond Stakes, a significant target that holds the promise of showcasing her prowess on the Melbourne stage. Stay tuned for updates on Karavas’ journey as she gears up for this prestigious event.
