Asfoora set for more globetrotting

Henry Dwyer, a recent convert to the world of frequent flyer points, is set to rack up the miles in 2024.

After Royal Ascot, Dwyer plans to take Asfoora to Goodwood and York in August, potentially leading to races in France and America.

“I didn’t actually know frequent flyer points existed until about three weeks ago,” he laughed.

With the help of assistant trainer Simon Morrish, Dwyer has claimed his old points and anticipates some upgrades soon.

Asfoora, having pulled up well from Royal Ascot, is targeted for the G2 King George Stakes at Goodwood on August 2 and York’s G1 Nunthorpe Stakes on August 24.

York has been her main target, with its flat track offering the best chance for a Group 1 win.

Following UK success, Dwyer eyes the Breeders’ Cup Turf in November and a race on Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe day.

Depending on Asfoora’s condition, the journey may also include the Prix de l’Abbaye in France before returning home.
