Golden Slipper winner set to trial at Hawkesbury ahead of Magic Millions Sunlight

Golden Slipper winner Lady Of Camelot will be an intriguing addition to the barrier trial ranks at Hawkesbury on Monday as connections ponder a potential summer raid in Queensland.

The filly will step out in an 800m heat at Monday’s session, her first public appearance since finishing third in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington in November.

Tim Clark will partner her in the trial with co-trainer Adrian Bott saying the three-year-old’s performance will go a long way towards determining their plans.

“There are a few options coming up and the trial will tell us everything,” Bott said.

“She just had a freshen-up off the back of her run in the Coolmore and she didn’t have long out, so she should come up pretty quickly.

“We will reassess and see what the autumn looks like.

“Physically, she looks really well so the trial will be a pretty important indicator for us.”

Bott confirmed the stable was considering targets at the Gold Coast next month, while another Sydney autumn carnival tilt was also on the radar longer-term.

Lady Of Camelot backed up her heady two-year-old season with several encouraging performances in top company during the spring, despite failing to add another win.

She placed in the Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley in September and along with her Group 1 placing in the Coolmore, finished a gallant fourth behind Bella Nipotina in The Everest (1200m).

Tulloch Lodge will also have several two-year-olds in action at Hawkesbury, including superbly bred Snitzel youngster Sigma, who is out of multiple Group 1 winner Princess Coup.

The colt is a half-brother to dual Group winner Argentia and will step out in an 800m heat that contains another blue-blooded juvenile in Barbarossa, a Too Darn Hot colt out of multiple Group 1 winner Guelph.
