$2.7m paid for Switzerland’s brother
Switzerland’s racing career may be nearing its conclusion, but Coolmore and Chris Waller are already investing in the next generation, going all in at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale with the purchase of his full brother for a staggering $2.7 million.
The colt, sired by Snitzel and out of American mare Ms Bad Behavior, was a standout offering from Arrowfield Stud. The purchase price eclipsed the $1.5 million paid for Switzerland at the same sale two years ago, and marked the highest-priced colt sold at Easter since 2022.
“A lot of people are enquiring about Switzerland going to stud at the moment, but this is a lovely type and obviously Snitzel is a fantastic sire,” Magnier said.
“Chris and all the team really like the horse. The colt’s fund, thankfully, is going very well and we have some great people in the fund, great supporters of Coolmore, and we just hope to have a bit of luck.”
