Yulong buys Vinrock with spring intentions

Hot on the heels of Treasurethe Moment’s Group 1 victory in the Australian Oaks, Yulong has expanded its spring arsenal by purchasing unbeaten colt Vinrock, one of the most exciting juveniles in the country.
Vinrock’s most recent triumph came in the Group 1 Inglis Sires’ (1400m) at Randwick on April 5, and his arrival further cements the successful collaboration between Yulong and trainer Matt Laurie, who already oversees Treasurethe Moment.
“Yulong’s partnership with trainer Matt Laurie has been nothing short of exceptional,” a Yulong statement said.
“While Vinrock has already marked himself as an exceptional stallion prospect, we are hopeful that this talented colt can continue to build on his outstanding record, carrying the Yulong silks to further success later this year.”
The son of I Am Invincible began his unbeaten run with a debut win at Pakenham in February, followed by a Group 2 win at Flemington on March 8 before his Group 1 breakthrough in Sydney.
Bred by Rosemont Stud, Vinrock’s dominant win in the Sydney Sires’ on April 5 saw him earn a Racing and Sports rating of 114.
“Yulong have been great to me, and we have already enjoyed huge success on the racecourse together with Treasurethe Moment,” Laurie said.
“I’m delighted with their purchase of Vinrock, he’s a ripping colt and we’re looking forward to an exciting spring.”
Laurie continues his strong season in 2024/25 with a winning strike-rate exceeding 20% and a place-rate hovering around 42%.
