Broadsiding bows out, set to stand at Darley stud

Darley will welcome Broadsiding to its Kelvinside stallion roster in 2025, marking the end of a successful racing career for the son of Too Darn Hot. The James Cummings-trained colt retires with four Group 1 wins among seven victories from 15 starts.
Broadsiding’s swansong came in the All Aged Stakes, where he finished down the field, but his triumph in the Rosehill Guineas (2000m) remains a key highlight. His earlier victories in the Golden Rose, Champagne Stakes, and J J Atkins underscored his class as a top-tier racehorse.
Set to stand for $66,000 including GST, Broadsiding joins Darley’s elite line-up at Kelvinside, which also features top sires such as Too Darn Hot, Anamoe, and Bivouac. He is accompanied by fellow new stallion Traffic Warden, who commands a fee of $22,000 following his success at Group 2 level and placings in Group 1 company.
Darley stallion boss Alastair Pulford praised the 2025 roster, stating: “This is an outstanding group of stallions – a world-class line-up.”
“The results they’ve achieved this year, both in the yearling market and on the racetrack, have been incredibly encouraging,” he added.
“These fees reflect the success we’ve seen and have been set with breeders firmly in mind.”
Among the returning sires, Too Darn Hot leads at $275,000, while Anamoe drops slightly to $110,000. Harry Angel’s success sees his fee rise to $66,000, and Bivouac holds steady at $55,000.
Other Kelvinside stallions include Pinatubo ($38,500), Native Trail ($27,500), and Victor Ludorum ($11,000). In Victoria, Street Boss remains the flagship at Northwood Park, standing for $66,000 alongside Cylinder ($44,000), Brazen Beau ($27,500), Kermadec ($13,750), and Paulele ($11,000).
