Bustler return in 2025 Belmont Sprint excites Parnham
Bustler looks set to make an exciting return in the Belmont Sprint (1400m) after a standout performance in an Ascot barrier trial.
The 2023 Railway Stakes winner cruised past Ain’t No Other Man in a sharp 1000m hit-out on Monday, pleasing trainer Neville Parnham ahead of a winter preparation.
“Bustler will front up in the Belmont Sprint, he won it two years ago as a three-year-old,” Parnham said.
“I don’t have a real reason for it, but he’s been real sharp in his work and I thought he trialled super. I’m extremely happy with him leading into this prep.”
Bustler boasts over $1.7 million in earnings from seven wins in 23 starts. He’s considered a strong betting prospect for the upcoming sprint — check out the latest odds at trusted betting sites.
Parnham also gave a positive update on September Born, who was third in the trial behind Bustler and is returning from injury after showing promise in the Fairetha Stakes before finishing unplaced in the WA Guineas.
“He pulled up with pretty severe bruising that day, but he’s had a good spell and come back in good order,” Parnham said. “He’ll run in a three-year-old 1200m race first-up, then head to the 1400m and eventually the Belmont Guineas (1600m).”
