Freedman to weigh up Journey to Queensland
Talented juvenile Just A Journey has underlined her potential with a second-straight win, dictating from the front to score stylishly on Randwick’s Kensington circuit and put herself in contention for Group 2 targets in Queensland.
Prepared by Michael Freedman, the daughter of Justify is unbeaten this prep and has firmed in markets for both the BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes and JJ Atkins at Eagle Farm.
“We will have to have a look and wait and see how she pulls up but Queensland is obviously an option,” said Freedman’s assistant Ben Duckworth post-race.
Jockey Tommy Berry was impressed by the way the filly responded after jumping smartly.
“She wasn’t very good in the barriers today... but we were able to assume the lead quite comfortably and get a couple of cheap sectionals,” Berry said.
“She is a filly who loves to build a bit of momentum... I picked up the pace a hundred metres before the corner and got a few of them off the bit and she was too strong late.”
