Arctic Glamour looking for a winter warmer in 2025 Tatts Tiara
Kerrin McEvoy’s vote of confidence has seen Arctic Glamour confirmed for this weekend’s Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm, despite doubts from her co-trainer.
Sterling Alexiou admitted he was unsure about pressing on after her last start in the Dane Ripper Stakes (1300m), but McEvoy’s feedback changed the equation.
“I told Kerrin he didn’t have to ride her, but he was keen. He said we’d be crazy not to run,” Alexiou said.
“He liked her effort last start, especially given the way the track was playing.”
The Dane Ripper was Arctic Glamour’s first start since March, and the team expects her to strip much fitter on Saturday.
Although her last win came more than a year ago over Joliestar, she’s placed multiple times at Group 2 level and is proven over the 1400m Tiara distance.
“She’s due, but her class is obvious. On her day she’s good enough,” Alexiou noted.
General Salute will also represent the yard in the W.J Healy Stakes (1200m), returning from a layoff after an autumn setback.
“He was scratched from a carnival run due to a joint issue, but he’s trialled well and this race came up at the right time,” said Alexiou.
“He’s shown us he’s ready to go again and I expect him to be very competitive.”
