Job to be Done at Flemington races

Emerging sprinter Job Done is out to prove he’s more than just a maiden winner when he lines up on Flemington Finals Day in the Next Gen Sprinters Final.

After a stylish debut victory at Seymour on June 10, the two-year-old gelding is currently a $3.10 second favourite for the 1200m contest.

“He can step up but there are two to beat, in my opinion,” said trainer Michael Kent Jnr.

“Bacash will be very hard to beat after being a big margin winner and I think Street Artist jumped out well but Job Done is a neat horse but not a big horse.

“He has a huge, big stride on him and he is definitely city class.”

Job Done, who clocked a Racing and Sports rating of 88, is expected to improve further, while Bacash, with a rating seven pounds higher, heads betting at $2.50 after a powerful Cranbourne win.

The Snitzel gelding is a half-brother to Pivot City and is showing all the signs of becoming a serious competitor for Kent Jnr and Mick Price.

“He won very handsomely on debut,” Kent Jnr added.

“I think he will love 1200-metres and he is a very straightforward horse – point and shoot.

“The Flemington straight will suit him and when you ask for him to sprint, he does it.”

Street Artist, trained by the Freedman team, makes his debut and is rated a $5.50 chance.
