In Flight to travel again for the 2025 Sir John Monash Stakes
In Flight continues her impressive run, with her next assignment coming in Melbourne’s Group 3 John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield this Saturday.
The Joseph Pride-trained mare is flying high after back-to-back listed wins at Doomben and Randwick, now stepping into Group level for the first time.
“I will have In Flight in Melbourne so I’m going to go down there,” Pride said.
Top Victorian hoop Craig Williams has been locked in to ride, trailing only Blake Shinn in the metro premiership standings.
“Craig Williams will ride her,” Pride said.
“He had about twenty minutes warning and he came back to me and now knows more about her than I do.
“He is a freak. I love Craig.
“That definitely gives me confidence that he has watched her videos and been happy to jump on.”
Pride made a recent appearance at Caulfield just weeks ago when The Black Cloud ran a narrow second, and he’s hopeful this trip will be more fruitful.
Although his Melbourne strike rate is modest, Pride believes In Flight is primed to perform.
“She has come back super. She couldn’t be better. I trialled her during the week and she is going great,” Pride said.
Heading the market at $2.80, In Flight will again carry favouritism into the John Monash Stakes, as punters continue to rally behind her.
