Vain Stakes 2025, Quezette Stakes good spring Pointers

Lindsay Park will arrive at Caulfield on Saturday with depth across the program, highlighted by strong chances in the $300,000 Group 2 Lawrence Stakes and both of the feature three-year-old sprints. Among the stable’s headline acts is Scenic Point, a filly touted as one of the most promising in training.
Currently sharing top billing in early markets for the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) on Caulfield Cup Day, Scenic Point will put her unbeaten record on the line in the $200,000 Group 3 Quezette Stakes (1100m). Her two wins to date have come in a Pakenham maiden and the Listed Redoute’s Choice Stakes.
Trainer Ben Hayes is eager to see her tested at a higher level. “She looks like she’s taken the improvement you want from two to three,” Hayes said. “She’s probably one of the more exciting three-year-olds coming out of our stable. She’s ready to run first-up and I’m looking forward to seeing her perform.”
Hayes’ previous Quezette Stakes success came with Bella Nipotina, who later became a three-time Group 1 winner and the only mare to win The Everest.
Scenic Point will face stiff competition from unbeaten Signature Scent, Group 3 winners The Playwright and Icarian Dream, Listed winner Blue Hotel, and Blue Diamond placegetter My Gladiola.
In the Vain Stakes, Lindsay Park will be represented by Shining Smile, who is chasing a sixth consecutive victory, and Tycoon Star, placed in the Blue Diamond. They meet a strong field including Sydney visitor Shaggy, McGaw, and the lightly raced pair Jimmy Recard and Sonofkirk.
