Lindermann supreme romp in 2025 Hill Stakes

Posted by RS NewsWire at 7:32pm on October 11th

Champion trainer Chris Waller and jockey Nash Rawiller combined for another big-race triumph as Lindermann produced a trademark front-running display to capture the $2 million Hill Stakes (1900m) at Rosehill.

Rawiller, who guided the gelding to his Rosehill Guineas win in 2023, has been aboard for nine of his past ten runs — a stretch that includes Group victories in the Chelmsford Stakes and consistent efforts in the 7 Stakes and Winx Stakes.

“His biggest asset is not just his heart but also his attitude,” Rawiller said. “He never gives up — he probably knew he was ahead before I did. He’s just one of those horses that keeps turning up for you.”

After controlling the tempo from the outset, Lindermann ($2.30 fav) kicked clear to defeat Attrition ($18) by 2¼ lengths, with Maison Louis ($26) third. It was another reminder of the gelding’s consistency and durability at the top level.

Waller’s assistant Darren Beadman, formerly of Godolphin, said Lindermann had quickly won him over. “He’s such a dude of a horse,” Beadman said. “Big, strong, powerful — and he’s been doing it since he was three. He’s a pillar of the stable.”

Beadman said a start in next week’s King Charles III Stakes (1600m) is under consideration, with Waller to make the final decision during the week.
