Miss Roumbini takes up The Invitation 2025

Posted by RS NewsWire at 4:56pm on October 24th

What has been a tricky prep for Miss Roumbini might finally turn the corner, with Mick Price upbeat about her chances of collecting a valuable prize this weekend.

The Zoustar mare heads to Randwick for the $2 million The Invitation, searching for her first success as a five-year-old.

Her planned Sydney start in the $1.5 million Alan Brown Stakes (1400m) didn’t eventuate—she was scratched as favourite—but the stable reports she’s thriving again.

“She got a travel bug on the way to Sydney, but her blood picture is good now and her gallop Saturday morning was super duper,” Price said.

“She’s nice and bright. I was there during the week (last week) and she looks fantastic and I think she’ll be hard to beat.”

Miss Roumbini has come up with barrier seven for The Invitation and could jump from six if Modella remains on the sidelines, with Adam Hyeronimus aboard.

Clockwise form is a tick—she captured the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (1300m) in January—and she arrives off two Caulfield seconds this prep.

First-up she was collared by Magic Time in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes (1200m), then produced a huge finish to split the field behind Sepals in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) after a sluggish getaway.

“The time between runs I don’t think will worry her,” Price said.

“She’s that type of filly, she’s got to be looking for something to do. I think that’s fine and 1400 will be good for her. I’m looking forward to it.”

Early betting for The Invitation has Miss Roumbini vying with Group 1 winner Manaal, while last-start Group 3 The Nivison winner Gangsta Granny and Doncaster Mile champion Stefi Magnetica sit close behind.
