High priced yearling poised for Golden Gift 2025 debut
The Ciaron Maher stable will unleash one of the most talked-about yearlings of the season when The Next Episode steps out in the $1 million Golden Gift at Rosehill.
By Snitzel out of Humma Humma, The Next Episode was the $2.8 million headline purchase from the Magic Millions sale before being briefly overtaken in price the next day.
He has impressed in trials, most notably when accelerating strongly to win a 900m hit-out at Rosehill.
“He’s shown us natural talent from day one,” assistant trainer Jo Gerard-Dubord said.
“He trialled very well and he’s got the competitive edge that a lot of Snitzels have. He’s still learning but he wants to win.”
The stable will also field Artemex and Spicy Miss in the same race, and Gerard-Dubord believes all three will perform.
“They’ve all shown something different. Spicy Miss has a huge stride and room to improve, Artemex is relaxed, and The Next Episode has that natural speed and race sense,” he said.
“He’ll put himself on the pace and relax. He’s very professional.”
