Inhabit out to book a 2026 Magic Millions Classic trip

Posted by RS NewsWire at 12:40pm on December 5th

Unbeaten filly Inhabit will be racing for a Magic Millions berth when she steps out again on Saturday.

A stylish debut winner at Murray Bridge in October, she now lines up in the Sportsbet Same Race Multi Two-Year-Old Plate (1000m) at Morphettville Parks.

Her assignment has been simplified with three scratchings, leaving just two opponents to overcome.

Trainer Michael Hickmott is eyeing a Queensland campaign that includes the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) on January 17.

Leading up to that, he hopes to run her in the Aquis Gold Pearl (1100m) on January 10 – if she wins this weekend to secure her spot.

“If she wins on Saturday, she should get enough prize money to qualify for the two-year-old race up there,” Hickmott said.

“The plan would be for her to go up there the week before and run in the 1100-metre fillies’ race and then back up into the Magic Millions the following week.

“We’re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves as she needs to win on Saturday first to get the prize money on the board and then she’s probably earned her way to go up there.”

Hickmott said a trip north would be welcomed by the filly’s all-female ownership group.

The ownership includes his wife, members of John O’Neill’s family, and VRC chief executive Kylie Rogers.

“She’s a female owned horse, so she will be running for the Lady bonuses as well up there,” Hickmott said.

“There are some good owners in this filly, and it would be good to get them all up there.

“There would be a rather large party up there regardless of whether she wins or not, and we just now need to get her up there qualified.”

Bettors can follow Inhabit’s Magic Millions journey via odds available at Australia’s betting platforms.
