2026 Magic Millions Classic picture to take shape at Wyong

Jason Collett is hoping Paradoxium provides him with a familiar winning feeling when the pair line up in Wednesday’s $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m).
Collett claimed the race last year aboard O’ Ole, who later went on to win the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, although Tommy Berry rode her in the Gold Coast feature after Collett chose another mount.
Paradoxium finished fourth in the Group 3 Breeders’ Plate (1000m) on debut, beaten only 1.55 lengths, and has since posted two strong trial victories.
“He has got a lot of class about him, a lot of speed, it’s just a case of harnessing it,” Collett said.
“I like him. He has come back better, a bit more furnished from that first preparation and first run.”
The Extreme Choice colt, a $400,000 purchase, is among eight runners in a race known for producing future Magic Millions stars.
Unencumbered and Capitalist both secured the Wyong–Gold Coast double, while Madeenaty, She’s All Class and Highness won at Wyong before placing on the Gold Coast. Farnan and Jonker also claimed the Wyong Classic before becoming Group 1 winners.
Bjorn Baker saddles two contenders — Paradoxium and Masvingo, the Gimcrack placegetter by Zoustar to be ridden by Kerrin McEvoy.
Max Lees Classic quinella Seeiaye and Mystical return, while blue-blooded first-starters from Waterhouse/Bott, the Freedmans, the Hawkes team and Ciaron Maher complete a strong field.
Celtic Sky and Belvante, both by Farnan, finished behind Paradoxium in a recent trial, while Marwooba and Behindcloseddoors bring hefty pedigrees and price tags to the contest.
Wyong will also host the $150,000 Wyong 3&4YO Stakes (1200m), where Collett rides O’ Ole.
No horse has completed the Wyong two-race Magic Millions double, although Collett is upbeat about O’ Ole’s chances of bouncing back after a below-par performance in the Group 3 Red Roses Stakes (1100m).
“She was a bit above herself the day she resumed in Melbourne but she had a trial the other day and went really well,” he said.
O’ Ole jumps from barrier two, with King Of Roseau on her inside and former Magic Millions 2YO Classic placegetter Spywire also well fancied.
Punters eyeing Wednesday’s features can find updated bookmaker offers via Australia’s top betting sites.
