Savvy Hallie on a path to the 2026 Magic Millions Sunlight

Posted by RS NewsWire at 9:01am on December 17th

Promising filly Savvy Hallie will launch her campaign in the $3 million Magic Millions Sunlight before being aimed toward Sydney’s autumn features.

Trainer Brad Widdup confirmed she had secured a slot in the January 10 sprint, with her preparation already well-advanced following a soft trial at Warwick Farm.

One more trial is scheduled before she heads to Queensland.

“She’s aiming at the Sunlight. She’s got B2B’s slot there,” Widdup said.

“She will have another trial and go in first-up. She is a top-class filly and it’s a $3 million race, so why not?”

Savvy Hallie impressed at two with Group race placings, and this season she returned to win at Newcastle, followed by victory in the Silver Shadow Stakes and a third in the Furious Stakes.

Her team opted to bypass the remainder of the spring carnival to prepare for the Queensland feature.

“It has been on the radar for a while,” Widdup said.

“She looks great and if she has improved that little bit, she will be pretty exciting.”

Stablemate Nashville Jack is also locked in for the Sunlight, giving Widdup a strong hand in the second edition of the race.

The inaugural Sunlight was won by Private Harry, who continued on to claim the Group 1 Galaxy, while Lady Of Camelot used it as a springboard into a successful autumn.

After the Magic Millions, Savvy Hallie will be set for the Light Fingers Stakes at Randwick in February.
