Dream to start 2026 Magic Millions Guineas build up

Icarian Dream is on track to return to Queensland as the Ciaron Maher team maps out a path toward next month’s Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
The Blue Point filly, who contested the Magic Millions 2YO Classic earlier this year, is being considered for Saturday’s Listed Gold Edition Plate at Eagle Farm.
Last season she won the Group 3 B J McLachlan Stakes on this weekend’s program, beating Cool Archie, who may again be among her rivals.
Maher Racing’s Jack Turnbull confirmed she will be an acceptor before the stable weighs up the field.
Icarian Dream’s last appearance was a strong third in the Group 3 The Vanity at Flemington during Cup week.
“We thought she was profiling exactly the right way before we gave her a break,” Turnbull said.
“She had a shaky patch getting to the races with an embargo, but she’s been building since.
“She’s in very good order … we’re thinking Gold Edition and then the options flow into January 17.”
The filly had a week’s spell before commencing her Magic Millions build-up.
“We tipped her out for a week … the goal was always to get her back up there,” Turnbull said.
“She’s a Group 3 winner and still has all her ability. We just need her back at her best.”
