Jigsaw to jump-out at Caulfield Heath ahead of 2026 Railway Stakes tilt at Ellerslie

Jigsaw will showcase his readiness for an international campaign when he steps out in a jump-out at Caulfield Heath on Wednesday.
The Cindy Alderson-trained sprinter is being prepared with the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1200m) at Ellerslie on January 24 firmly on the radar.
The gelding has not been seen in race conditions since taking out The Meteorite (1200m) at Cranbourne on November 22, marking his third straight win following earlier victories at Cranbourne and Moonee Valley.
Apprentice Logan Bates, who has partnered Jigsaw throughout his winning streak, said the preparation was tracking smoothly despite a slight adjustment earlier in the week.
“The way he is prepping up, it appears all systems go,” Bates said.
“It’s nothing too serious, it’s more stimulation for him, but the way he’s prepping up, it looks like he is going.”
Jigsaw was originally set to jump-out at Cranbourne on Monday but will instead complete his work at Caulfield Heath.
Bates said Jigsaw has played a pivotal role in his rise through the ranks, delivering his biggest career win in The Meteorite.
The sprinter also provided Bates with his first Stakes victory when landing the Group 2 McEwen Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley earlier in the spring.
If selected to make the New Zealand trip, Bates is eager to head across the Tasman once more.
“I’ll definitely be going, unless the boss says otherwise, but at this stage, if I behave myself, I’ll be going,” Bates said.
The apprentice recently rode in New Zealand during New Zealand Cup week at Riccarton, including a unique experience competing against his mother Kylie Williams.
Bates is also hopeful of heading north to the Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival following his recent win aboard Gin A Tonic.
Form guides and betting markets for Jigsaw’s upcoming targets can be found via the Australian betting sites list.
