Tulloch Lodge colt on Notice for 2026 Canonbury Stakes assignment

Posted by RS NewsWire at 10:52am on January 29th

The Canonbury Stakes looms as an important measuring stick for Eviction Notice as the Tulloch Lodge colt resumes following a short spring campaign.

After winning an early two-year-old trial, Eviction Notice went to the Breeders’ Plate (1000m) as a well-backed runner but faded late after being caught wide in the lead.

Trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott sent him to the paddock following that run and Bott has been pleased with his return to work.

“Physically, he looks fantastic, and I can’t fault him,” Bott said.

“He started a fancied horse in the Breeders’ Plate and things just didn’t go to plan for him, but he seems in good order.”

Eviction Notice will again meet Incognito at Rosehill, with the Golden Slipper only weeks away.

“There are going to be some quality horses in that race so it will give us a good line on where he’s at,” Bott said.

“He has come back really well. He’s just got to step up and improve on what he did first campaign.”

The stable will also saddle Miss Chanel in the Widden Stakes (1100m) after her debut third, with improvement expected on a firmer track.

“She will improve nicely off the back of that and having had that experience,” Bott said.

“She will be better on top of the ground too.”

Bott added that Plagiarism is being aimed at the Inglis Millennium (1100m), while other Magic Millions runners will be spaced through the carnival.
