Connections eye redemption for On Display in Adelaide feature

The On Display camp is eager to make amends for last year's near-miss while targeting a Stakes placing in Adelaide.
Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr have set their sights on the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville on April 25 for the now four-year-old mare, who was fourth in the race last year before triumphing in the Listed Morphettville Guineas (1600m) the following week.
Saturday presents choices for the mare, with acceptances in the Listed Anniversary Vase (1600m) at Caulfield and the Listed City Of Adelaide Handicap (1529m) at Morphettville.
The path to the Queen Of The South Stakes revolves around the Anniversary Vase, in which she drew barrier three and will have Thomas Stockdale in the saddle.
The stable has also nominated Golden Path and Taken for the Anniversary Vase, but Kent Jnr rates On Display as their top contender of the group.
"She's the high quality one of ours in the race," Kent Jnr said.
"She is going well. She found the leader biased track at Flemington difficult to overcome and last time behind Treasurethe Moment, I haven't seen a race where they have gone that slowly for a long time.
"The sectionals meant she had no chance, but she zipped home as good as anything in the race and she'll run well."
Third-up this Saturday, On Display was third to Scheelite in the Shaftesbury Avenue Stakes at Flemington on March 7 and then fifth behind Treasurethe Moment in the Sunline Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield on March 21.
Among the trio from Price and Kent Jnr, Taken has the featherweight allocation but must contend with the widest gate in the 14-runner field.
Kent Jnr praised Taken's runner-up effort last time on soft ground at Flemington.
"I thought he was excellent and he should be a good chance down in the weights, despite the draw," Kent Jnr said.
Kent Jnr has Golden Path lined up for Queensland raids and feels the gelding needs further conditioning after resuming sixth in Taken's recent Flemington race.
"He's heading to Queensland and I think he needs another warm up run before he strikes form," Kent Jnr said.
