Randwick Anzac Day action features Queensland Derby champ Maison Louis return

Tom Charlton seeks an encouraging fresh performance from Queensland Derby winner Maison Louis at Randwick, with plans potentially including another northern campaign this winter.
Just over a year back, the Super Seth son went from capturing a Goulburn maiden at start two to securing the Group 1 Derby at his seventh race, followed by variable spring form.
Out of his four outings last time in, the highlight was a runner-up finish in the Hill Stakes on his second run behind durable Lindermann, which saw the gelding granted an extended rest before an autumn return.
"His form just tailed off a bit after starting really well," Charlton said of Maison Louis' spring preparation.
"We gave him a bit of time, so he will resume on Saturday, and he can work towards races over a bit further in Sydney and maybe Queensland.
He has a bit of weight so we're just looking for a positive first-up run and he may go to a Gosford Cup or something like that second-up."
Maison Louis shoulders 60.5kg from gate 12 in Saturday's First Australian Imperial Force Handicap over 1500m.
Connections of stable companion Girl About Town remain undecided on the HMAS Sydney Handicap (1100m), contemplating a softer option at Kensington on Monday instead.
Nevertheless, the inside barrier at Randwick tempts, and Charlton will evaluate the fields before finalizing plans.
By Zousain, Girl About Town has trialled sharply, dominating her latest hit-out, and is primed to compete effectively in either race.
"She has shown good ability," he said.
"I'm sure there will be plenty in (Saturday's) race with similar trials or race performances, but when she does run, she will run well."
Stayer King Pedro returns for Charlton in the Battle of the Dardanelles Handicap (1600m), while reliable mare Polymnia contests the Anzac Day Cup (1800m) after recent stakes minor placings.
"Polymnia is knocking on the door. She's racing very well, and it looks a good grade of race for her," Charlton said.
All four Randwick mounts for Charlton will be piloted by Dylan Gibbons.
