JMac engaged by Lindsay Park for Tycoon Star in Morphettville feature

Ben, Will and J D Hayes from the Lindsay Park stable are confident that some modifications will unlock peak form from Tycoon Star at the Morphettville races.
Tycoon Star lines up in Saturday's Group 2 Tobin Bronze Stakes (1200m), with expectations of a solid run potentially qualifying the colt for the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) over 1200m at Morphettville on May 9.
Once again, the trainers at Lindsay Park have fitted the visor to Tycoon Star's tack, though the primary switch is bringing in James McDonald aboard.
The stable intended to revert to blinkers for Tycoon Star but settled on the visor instead, according to Ben Hayes.
"The visor and the best jockey in the world on Saturday and hopefully that makes a difference and then he stays on for the Goodwood," Hayes said.
"Unfortunately, the line keeps coming up too quick for him, but he does have the ability.
He's performed well against the best and we're hoping The Goodwood will be a nice race for him to really have a go at."
In top juvenile and three-year-old events nationwide, Tycoon Star has often been in contention for prizes, most recently taking second in the Redelva Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville on April 11.
The previous Goodwood champion Reserve Bank secured victories in the Redelva Stakes and Tobin Bronze Stakes en route, and Royal Merchant, the 2023 Goodwood winner, likewise triumphed in the Tobin Bronze.
With drier ground anticipated at Morphettville on Saturday, Hayes is optimistic about an enhanced showing from Stung in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m).
After winning the Listed Clare Lindop Stakes (1600m) on March 28, Stung struggled to a distant finish in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes (1800m) on April 11.
"She drew wide and went back to the rail and it was a soft track that day and it was the first time she had seen it," Hayes said.
"She didn't like it one bit and she had won well at her previous start, so we've decided to press on.
She deserves the opportunity."
