In-form filly Rohesia eyes Adelaide Guineas

Will Hayes is confident that several positive developments have converged to help progressive filly Rohesia rediscover the winning thread.
This daughter of Hanseatic has triumphed in her two most recent 1400m assignments, the most recent in stakes grade, leading the team to base her in Adelaide for Saturday's Listed Adelaide Guineas (1600m).
After beginning with sprint distances, Rohesia defeated a competitive Class 3 at Ballarat and then lived up to $3 favouritism when taking the Listed Nitschke Stakes (1400m) at Morphettville Parks on April 18th.
According to Hayes, the blinkers have made a big difference, especially given Rohesia's positive response to wearing them in her latest two victories.
"We're going to look at the mile in the Adelaide Guineas," Hayes said.
"She was so strong through the line the other day, we thought we'd give her the chance to add another stakes victory.
"I think that the defining moment is when we got the blinkers on, she's very genuine, but they really have improved her.
"So it's really good that she's tractable, and she's relaxed in them and she keeps finding the line, so we'll definitely get a good guide on her out to the mile."
Having spent the previous two weeks in Adelaide, Hayes points to Rohesia's easy nature as vital in her current progress.
"She's stayed here with Stuart and Lizzy Gowers and she loves it," Hayes said.
"She's very straightforward, Ash Alford who's travelling our horses has done a great job and says she hasn't missed a beat since her last win."
Among the 16 acceptors for the Adelaide Guineas, Rohesia has barrier three and Daniel Stackhouse in the saddle, at $6 with Gold Coast Belle the $2.15 elect.
