Ole Dancer's return to Caulfield for Weekend Hussler Stakes

The Caulfield racecourse has proven to be a fortunate track for Ole Dancer, and her trainers, Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, are hopeful that the now four-year-old mare will return to winning ways this Saturday.
It was almost a year ago that the progeny of the notable sire Ole Kirk claimed the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield. Although her subsequent results have been inconsistent, the stable is anticipating a strong showing from her in the Listed Weekend Hussler Stakes (1400m).
"I am really looking forward to seeing her back at that trip," Coleman commented.
"With a few runs under her belt, I think we can see (her best) and she loves the Caulfield track. She is definitely and is looking for that 1400-metres."
Previously, Ole Dancer finished seventh in the Listed How Now Stakes (1200m) on September 19. Although this race ended her perfect Caulfield record of two wins from as many starts at the venue, it's worth noting that the 2021 Weekend Hussler Stakes victor, Kahma Lass, had a comparable midfield result in the same preceding race.
Blake Shinn is set to ride Ole Dancer, a jockey who guided Jimmysstar to victory in the Everest-bound race in 2024. Shinn's Caulfield engagements also feature the favoured Blind Raise in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m), Evaporate for the Hayes training partnership in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m), and he will continue his association with the 2024 Melbourne Cup winner Knight's Choice in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m).
