Caulfield Cup fall victim Half Yours is back home and doing well

Good news has emerged regarding the riders involved in the Caulfield Cup, with the Victorian Jockeys Association reporting both have been discharged from hospital.
Mark Zahra and Jye McNeil were transported to the Alfred Hospital after a dramatic fall during the Caulfield Cup on Saturday.
The sequence of events saw Half Yours, with Zahra aboard, fall first, followed by Ohope Wins, ridden by McNeil, which crashed over the top.
It is with deep regret that Ohope Wins was euthanised on humane grounds by Racing Victoria's veterinary team.
Zahra and McNeil were admitted for medical assessment and monitoring. Zahra was released on Saturday night, with McNeil following suit on Sunday morning.
"Both boys have escaped serious injury," the VJA confirmed in a statement.
Meanwhile, the racing future of Tony and Calvin McEvoy's contender, Half Yours, appears uncertain after the Saturday incident. The horse, like last year's Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winners, was left battered and bruised, requiring stitches for cuts.
"We are blessed to have taken our horse home and he seems OK," Tony McEvoy told racing.com.
"It was upsetting for everyone. They all (the stable staff) felt it.
"We sent out a really nice message to all our team at Flemington and Ballarat last night to assure them that our horse is OK and will recover.
"They wear it on their sleeve because they get very close to these horses and do a great job.
"It was gut-wrenching to watch but we feel blessed that we've been able to take our horse home and the jockeys are OK."
