Ipswich’s time to shine with full fields set for Ipswich Cup day

Brisbane has a week off through the Stradbroke season as Ipswich hosts its iconic race day and the numbers are aplenty.

The Listed Ipswich Cup (2150m) has G1 performers nominated for it and even if they don’t run, it will still be a highly competitive race.

Numerian ($4) is there for Annabel Neasham and so too is Dark Destroyer ($9) over from NZ who will be big factors. But others who can stake a claim include Berdibek ($7), Desert Icon ($5) and Spirit Ridge ($7).

The big sprint is the Listed Eye Liner Stakes (1350m) where it will be quite a contest to even make the field. Far Too Easy ($3), Emerald Kingdom ($8), Cepheus ($11) and Munhamek ($8) are some ones to note here.

Fillies and mares chase black type in the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic (1200m) and horses such as Sneaky Five ($11), Lady Laguna ($6) and Winning Verse ($15) will be hopes.

The Provincial Stayers Final (2500m) can throw up an interesting horse as we saw two years back when a little horse called Incentivise won by near on 10 lengths.
