Dual G2 winner Just Folk joins Bedggood stable

Just Folk, a dual Group 2 winner and former Bendigo Horse of the Year, has found a new home at Cranbourne after being purchased by Gavin Bedggood for $199,000.

Trainer Josh Julius, who is retiring, listed the talented gelding on Inglis Digital on behalf of his grandparents, the breeders of the horse.

Bedggood’s acquisition marks his most expensive purchase to date.

After thorough veterinary checks revealed no issues, Bedggood is excited to have Just Folk join his stable and believes there are still plenty of races ahead for the rising seven-year-old.

With an impressive record of 32 starts and $772,413 in earnings, Just Folk has showcased exceptional form on soft and heavy ground, making him a versatile contender.

Bedggood plans to assess race conditions before deciding between Melbourne and Sydney campaigns, with the aim of targeting high-prize money events.

Bedggood, known for his success with tried horses such as No Effort and Keats, intends to offer shares in Just Folk to interested parties.

Meanwhile, Julius, who seeks more family time, will commence work at the Bendigo Jockey Club as part of the track staff.
