Options in two states for blue-blooded Snowden youngster

An interstate trip is Peter Snowden’s preferred choice for untapped filly I Found You, but the relative safety of a home track assignment could still win out.
The two-year-old, a half-sister to stallions Deep Field and Shooting To Win, has been accepted for the Petaluma Handicap (1100m) at Randwick and the Next Generation Sprinters Series Final (1200m) at Flemington, both on Saturday.
Snowden has until Thursday night to make a call on which one I Found You contests and says he will have a closer study of the fields and set-up for the two races before a decision is made.
“I’d love to take her to Melbourne for the experience, but I want to win too,” Snowden said.
“I’ll just try to pick the best race for her, hopefully it is Melbourne.
“I’d love to get her down the straight and give her a look at that to see how she went going forward into the spring.
“But if that race is too hard, I’ll stay back here in Sydney, which might be an easier race.”
By star sire I Am Invincible, I Know You took the first step towards living up to her pedigree with an emphatic 3-1/2 length debut romp at Randwick’s Kensington track earlier this month.
Snowden said afterwards that that the filly had been like a present under the Christmas tree he’d been eagerly waiting to unwrap.
That anticipation wasn’t only inspired by her breeding, but the positive signs she had been showing at home.
“She has always shown a bit and she is very well bred, so you’re hoping she will measure up,” Snowden said.
“Her work suggested she would, and the way she won the other day suggested she was on her way. Hopefully she can keep going.”
I Found You has drawn wide at both venues, with Tyler Schiller booked to partner her in Sydney and Blake Shinn in Melbourne.
Regardless of where she lines up, Snowden says her performance will be critical in determining whether she is given a short break and aimed at the spring, or a lengthier spell.
“I will be guided by what she does on Saturday as to whether we give her six weeks in the paddock or three weeks in the paddock,” he said.
“She is related to Shooting To Win and to Deep Field. It’s a very strong family so black type will be worth gold and hopefully she is good enough to win some of that.”
