Within The Law set for the G2 Sweet Embrace Stakes

Posted by RS NewsWire at 1:41pm on February 28th

After a strong showing at Rosehill, Bjorn Baker’s barn looks to maintain momentum at Randwick, with Within The Law aiming to confirm her Golden Slipper credentials.

The Lucky Vega filly has already banked a win in the $500,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) and a close second in the Inglis Millennium, proving her class.

She will clash again with Rivellino in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m), hoping to turn the tables.

“She is going really well and has improved since last time,” Baker said.

“This will be a step up a test to see where we are at among the other fillies we have to be confident in her with the way she has been going.”

Though drawn wide in barrier 12, Baker remains confident in her closing speed.

“We’re not too concerned about the gate as she will be coming home hard anyway.”

Bellazaine and Snitzel Miss are the $4 favorites, with Within The Law at $6.

Elsewhere, Arapaho tackles the Group 1 Verry Elleegant Stakes (1600m), a tough ask at $81 odds.

“This is too short for him, and he’s taking on those horses who are much more suited to it,” Baker said.

Arapaho eyes the Tancred Stakes on March 29, currently priced at $11.
