$20m The Everest has a new slot holder

Mulberry Racing has officially acquired a coveted slot in The Everest, replacing The Star, which previously held the position.
The announcement came from Racing NSW on Thursday, confirming Mulberry Racing's three-year agreement following a highly competitive selection process.
The emerging stable, which began in 2023, boasts a high-tech approach to racing, operating an equine property near Sydney and campaigning horses globally, including standout Jedibeel.
They also made waves at the Magic Millions sales earlier this year, purchasing a high-profile Home Affairs filly for $700,000.
“We are excited to welcome Mulberry Racing as our newest slot holder in The TAB Everest,” said Graeme Hinton, Racing NSW’s chief operating officer.
“In particular, the opportunity to target a new demographic is what The TAB Everest is all about.”
Racing manager Lachlan Sheridan says they’re not in it just for the show.
“At Mulberry Racing, data drives every decision we make,” Sheridan said.
“From day one, we’ve used this approach to build a strong stable across Australia and the United States – one that we believe has the quality and depth to win The Everest.”
The 2025 Everest will be staged at Randwick on October 18 with a prize pool of $20 million.
