2025 San Domenico Stakes next step for Raging Force

Emerging star Raging Force will spearhead Peter Snowden’s assault on the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill, with stablemate Memo withdrawn to instead contest a trial. Snowden believes the exciting colt is ready to showcase his talent against elite three-year-olds.
Raging Force has quickly made up for lost time after being sidelined from the Sydney autumn, piecing together three straight wins through the winter, including a dominant Rosehill display in July that marked him as a serious prospect. That form has seen him installed among the leading contenders for Saturday’s feature.
Snowden said the race was the perfect test to gauge where Raging Force fits among the spring’s top level, with the Golden Rose (1400m) firmly on the radar if he performs strongly.
“It’s a good test for him. He is going to meet some decent horses on Saturday,” Snowden said.
“I couldn’t be happier with him and I was really happy with his trial the other day. He seems a genuine horse and his three wins have all been in different scenarios. All solid. His last win was very good and the time was very good.
“I think he is a pretty handy horse but we’ll know more about him after Saturday.
“If he runs well, we’ll go to The Run To The Rose and that well tell us whether we go Golden Rose.”
Saturday’s San Domenico is stacked with quality, featuring Golden Slipper runner-up Wodeton, Blue Diamond Stakes winner Devil Night and Skyline Stakes winner Rivellino.
Snowden highlighted Raging Force’s versatility as a strength heading into the clash.
“He can handle wet. He can handle dry. He can lead. He can sit off them,” he said. “He’s just got most boxes ticked. Hopefully he’s got the ability one ticked after Saturday.”
Memo, who was scratched from the San Domenico, trialled at Rosehill on Thursday and is likely to resume next week with options in both Sydney and Melbourne.
