Paradoxium races into 2026 Magic Millions Classic favouritism with Wyong win

Bjorn Baker has high hopes Paradoxium can follow in the footsteps of Unencumbered and O’Ole after a commanding display in the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic.
Both former stable stars won the Wyong lead-up before claiming the prestigious Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast.
Paradoxium ($2.35 fav) stamped himself as a genuine contender, sprinting away to win by 2-3/4 lengths from Mystical ($6), with Masvingo ($5) finishing strongly into third.
“We’re in the Magic Millions now and I’m hoping third time lucky. I have won this race twice before and they’ve gone on to win it,” Baker said.
“I think this guy is as good, if not better, than all of them. Very, very exciting.
“Masvingo was good too. She has picked up more money and hopefully we can get her there too.”
The Extreme Choice colt, purchased for $400,000, debuted in the Breeders’ Plate before tuning up with two sharp trial wins.
Under sustained pressure early, he showed class to kick away again.
“He copped some pressure early, he soaked it up and he kicked off it, which was good,” jockey Jason Collett said.
“I’m excited riding nice two-year-olds like him.”
Baker says his current two-year-old group is the strongest he has assembled.
“I think I have got the best bunch of two-year-olds I’ve ever had, and by a margin,” he said.
Paradoxium is next bound for the B J McLachlan Stakes ahead of the Gold Coast grand final.
In the Magic Millions Wyong 3YO & 4YO Stakes, The Three Hundred ($6.50) denied King Of Roseau ($2.80) and Spywire ($2.30 fav) in a tight finish, with stewards dismissing two protests.
