Blowout in 2026 Blue Diamond Stakes Fillies Preview with debut winner

Rubi’s Choice continued the strong association between Greg Eurell and broodmare Redasun with an eye-catching win in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield.
It was the fifth foal from Redasun to race, with three of those now winners under Eurell’s care.
Starting at $26, Rubi’s Choice finished strongly to defeat I Am Aria and Gin Twist in the 1000-metre contest.
Like the colt winner earlier on the card, Rubi’s Choice is not currently nominated for the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, though connections have the option of paying a late entry fee.
“We had another two-year-old, Lincoln Square, who was a brother to this filly so it was the right decision to go back to Redasun again,” Eurell said.
“It is always tough to get a guide on these two-year-olds but what I liked with her is that she is so progressive and every time she has gone out she has been learning and progressed with it.
“She could not have led into this any better than she did and today I felt that she was super well so we thought we’d get a good guide on where she sits.”
The filly clocked 58.38 seconds, comfortably quicker than the colts who raced earlier.
“We’ll see how she pulls up but we’ll likely go to the Blue Diamond Prelude and go from there,” Eurell said.
The Group 2 Blue Diamond Prelude will be run at Caulfield on February 7.
Rubi’s Choice is listed at $15 in early markets for the Blue Diamond Stakes.
Those tracking the two-year-old form can review current racing betting markets ahead of the feature.
