Gin Twist set for another Flemington straight test

Lindsay Park's Ben, Will and J D Hayes operation was disheartened after both their fillies missed out on the Golden Slipper field at Rosehill.
Gin Twist and Medicinal sat as emergencies two and three for Australia's premier two-year-old showdown.
Ben Hayes was gutted that the duo didn't make it, especially with no scratches among the 16 two-year-olds in the Group 1 race last Saturday.
"It's a shame we didn't get in," Hayes said.
"You win a Stakes race, and you normally get in, but this year it was just so open.
"They were taking their turns in winning and with the prize money so strong in New South Wales, we ended up just missing out."
Positioned as the third standby for the Golden Slipper, the Hayes brothers chose to leave Gin Twist in Melbourne.
A previous victor down the Flemington straight on February 28, Gin Twist is back at the venue on Saturday for the Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m).
She had a relaxed jump-out at Flemington last week, ending up third over 800m.
"We made the decision to not even send her up," Hayes said.
"It didn't look like she was any chance of getting a run, so we took the opportunity of giving her a jump-out at home instead."
Out of Golden Slipper sire Home Affairs, Gin Twist impressed by claiming a Listed race at 1000m along the straight on February 28.
"She's had that experience down the straight and hopefully that will hold her in good stead on Saturday," Hayes said.
Gin Twist stayed put in Melbourne, but Medicinal headed to Sydney on the off-chance of a Golden Slipper run.
The filly has a Sydney trial planned before the Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 11, according to Hayes.
