$2 million paid for brother of Switzerland during Inglis Easter yearling sale

Switzerland’s junior brother confronts substantial expectations racing-wise, yet he has already impressed at the sales arena, proving a major attraction on the second day of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
Catalogued as a Snitzel colt from the American Ms Bad Behavior, he drew $2 million amid fierce bidding, purchased by a syndicate incorporating Coolmore, who owned and now stands the Coolmore Stud Stakes champion Switzerland.
The figure topped Switzerland's own sale price by $500,000, as he had been bought at this very sale three years ago.
The colt was landed by James Harron alongside TFI and Coolmore, destined for the stable of Chris Waller, who trains Switzerland. Additionally, Waller looks after Ms Bad Behavior’s third Snitzel colt, unraced juvenile St Gotthard.
"Everyone came together and agreed on what a special horse he was," Harron said.
"He'll go to Chris Waller, who obviously has done wonders with Switzerland and I know they've got a great opinion of the full brother.
"The mare's just doing a great job, she's just not missing, so that makes it even more exciting.
"Aside from all that, on his own merits, he just to me was a standout type and now we've just got to keep dreaming that he can be the real one for us and hopefully lots of fun on the track."
Ms Bad Behavior's third seven-figure Snitzel foal at Easter fetched $2 million; St Gotthard had commanded $2.7 million last year, while brother Decorum went for $550,000 and has notched three wins in five races for Michael Freedman.
On Day 2, just one yearling exceeded Switzerland’s brother’s tag: a Too Darn Hot colt out of Enbihaar, kin to Too Darn Lizzie, realising $2.2 million to Watership Down of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Johnny McKeever, and the Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott team.
A further $2 million colt emerged that session, from American Giza Goddess and acquired by Matt Laurie and Yulong.
The sale's highest price came from Extreme Choice, with Tom Magnier paying $3 million for a colt from Pretty Brazen on opening day. He also sired a $1.8 million filly and pair of $1.6 million colts for a robust aggregate.
Nine Extreme Choice lots averaged $1,561,111, dwarfing Too Darn Hot's $751,667 as the second-best sire average.
For the 2026 Inglis Easter, clearance eased to 75 percent against 88 percent previously, turnover dropping from over $151 million to about $145 million.
Average prices improved to $464,473 from $447,832, but median slipped $10,000 to $350,000.
