Neville Parnham extends Trainers’ Premiership record

Neville Parnham claimed a record-extending 14th Trainers’ Premiership and his first title since the 2010-11 season.

Parnham, a WA Racing Hall Of Fame inductee, prepared 59 city wins, 13 clear of runner-up, Simon Miller.

Adam Durrant finished third with 43 wins with Dan Morton next on 39 and Albany-based trainer Steve Wolfe 33 wins.

Durrant defeated Parnham in overall wins, preparing 104 victories to Parnham’s 88.

Durrant also claimed Leading Provincial trainer.

Dan and Ben Pearce ran third, completing their best-ever season.

William Pike created history by going past Paul Harvey’s riding record of 12 wins, despite a late start to the Perth season.

Pike ended on 101 wins, 30 clear of Brad Parnham, who recorded his best season in the saddle.

After a couple of previous jockey premierships, Chris Parnham finished third on 63 wins, ahead of Clint Johnston-Porter.

Pike, Chris Parnham and Clint Johnston Porter finished top 3 in overall wins.

Holly Watson won Apprentice of the Year after booting home 44 ½ wins.

Natasha Faithfull took out Leading Provincial rider ahead of William Pike and apprentice, Brayden Gaerth.

Austin Galati won Leading Country Jockey from Kyra Yuill and Rosie Mahony.

Veteran Tom Pike was crowned Leading Country Trainer.
